These ministries include the choir, Sunday School facilitator, Women, Youth and the 3CM, formerly Health and Wellness and Bereavement Ministry.
Trisha earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Texas Woman's University, a Master of Science degree in Nursing with a focus in Congregational Pastoral Care from Houston Baptist University, a Master of Science degree in Health Education from Texas Southern University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on Leadership from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She has been a nurse for over 40 years and since retiring from the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center after 30 years, she now works as an adjunct professor at Houston Community College and Texas Southern University.
She also employs her skills and experience in presentations and volunteering with the Institute of Spirituality and Health (ISH), American Heart Association (AHA), American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Cancer Society (ACS), Mental Health America of Greater Houston and the Faith Health Network of Houston. She currently serves as ministry leader for the Lincoln District Association, as education chair for the Black Nurses of Greater Houston and President-elect for the Texas Health Ministries Association (THIMN).
As the ministry leader for the 3 CM, Trisha's passion for improving the health of the congregations has led her to develop and coordinate workshops and symposiums on Stop the Bleed, All is Well: Taking Care of Things Most Dear focusing on hospice and supportive care, Medicare, safety at home, epilepsy and more.
