She served as the Director of Nursing for the ADN Program at Houston Community College from 2017-2019 after serving in a faculty position since 2003. She retired in 2019. Dr. Saddler worked for over 33 years at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. While at Anderson, she worked in several areas, the last one being gastrointestinal service where she worked as an endoscopy nurse, a clinic nurse, and a research nurse.
She enjoys volunteering with the American Heart Association, Brigid's Hope, the Alzheimer's Association, the Black Nurses Association of Houston, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the MD Anderson Retiree Association. She works in community outreach and member support services as a Faith Community Nurse at her church.
As an oncology nurse by training, she has an interest in management and support of cancer patients with a special interest in caring for the caregivers for cancer and other chronic illnesses patients. As a nurse educator, Dr. Saddler values the importance of teaching soft skills and the art of presence".
